Dear Centralia Residents,
We are excited to announce that curbside recycling for fibrous materials will resume on Friday, December 1st! This marks a significant step towards a greener and more sustainable community. At the Board of Aldermen meeting held November 20, 2023, the Board voted to accept Dayne's Waste Disposal's option to offer curbside recycling for cardboard and paper. This opened up the opportunity for residents to conveniently recycle cardboard and paper right at their curbside.
In light of this positive change, the Board also voted to discontinue the use of recycling dumpsters located at the Street Barn on South St. These containers will remain in service through December and will be removed on or around January 2, 2024. This transition not only streamlines the recycling process but also contributes to a more sustainable and environmentally conscious Centralia.
Start Date:
Curbside recycling for fibrous material (ex. cardboard, paper) on December 1st.
What to Expect:
On regular recycle collection days (1st & 3rd Friday of every month), please place your plastic & metal recyclables in clear bags. Paper and broken down cardboard can be placed in another cardboard box.
Accepted materials include paper, cardboard, plastics, and aluminum cans.
Ensure items are clean and free of food residue.
If your regular trash pickup falls on Friday, please be sure to separate your recycling from your trash by placing it away from your regular trash.
